Lorenzo (he/him/his pronouns) was born in the Philippines and raised in the New York City metropolitan area. He joined ITDP in 2019. In his role, he is responsible for all accounts payable related tasks and responsibilities such as paying vendors/payees, processing all of ITDP’s employee expense reimbursements, reconciling reports such as credit card transactions, managing the company’s business bank account for payments, and many more such as assisting with the monthly financial close.
Lorenzo is very passionate about helping others in the community as well as in non-profit work. He has experience volunteering and working for many other non-profit organizations in the New York Metropolitan area such as Peers Educating Peers for New Jersey City University in Jersey City, NJ as well as Jersey Cares in which he was awarded “Volunteer of the Year” for his role as Site Captain/Leader for more than 1,000+ hours served.
Before joining ITDP, Lorenzo has accounting experience ranging in companies from start-ups to multi-billion dollar firms. Lorenzo has accounting experience in the following industries: luxury custom-home building/construction, oil & gas (energy), manufacturing & distribution, tax management consulting, and commercial real estate. He is very happy that he has found a home in non-profit accounting with ITDP, which combines both his professional interests and personal passions.
Lorenzo earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston-Downtown in Interdisciplinary Studies in which consisted of classes/credits primarily in the fields of: accounting, finance, business, psychology, and communications. He is currently enrolled in a Master of Science in Accountancy program at Rutgers University, which contains all of the business and accounting accreditations he needs in order to be eligible to sit-in for the state of New York CPA exam upon completion.
Some of Lorenzo’s hobbies are playing tennis, watching satirical political shows, and enjoying NYC’s restaurant scene in all five boroughs plus New Jersey.
