ITDP is a nonprofit organization headquartered in New York City with offices in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, and the United States. ITDP’s programs focus on public transport, non-motorized transport, travel demand management, parking, transport policy, and urban development.

Iuri Moura

Urban Development Manager

Iuri Moura (he/his) holds a Master Degree in Urban and Environmental Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University (PUC) and the Technische Universität Braunschweig (Germany), and a Bachelor Degree in Geography by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).  He joined ITDP Brazil in November 2014 as Urban Development  Manager.

Between 2009-2014, Iuri has worked in the engineering sector as an environmental analyst, developing and coordinating initiatives for the environmental management of large projects in the oil & gas, transport, energy and industry sectors. Among more than twenty projects in which he participated during this period, we highlight the studies for the licensing of the BRT TransCarioca (2010) and for the expansion of terminals 1 and 2 of Rio de Janeiro’s Port (2010-2012). In addition, he also directly participated in the detailing, monitoring and execution of environmental management programs of engineering projects, highlighting the Metropolitan Arch Road of Rio de Janeiro (2011-2014).

At ITDP Brazil, Iuri was responsible for the planning, management, and technical coordination of several urban development and sustainable mobility projects. We highlight the technical support in the preparation of the Porto Maravilha Social Housing Plan (2015), the São Paulo Metropolitan Development Plan (2016), the Niterói Mobility Plan (2018), the Intelligent Mobility Plan of Avenida Amazonas in Belo Horizonte (2020), and the Conectar Queimados TOD Plan (2021). He also coordinated the Brazilian version of the TOD Implementation Guide (2018) and conceived the e-learning platform MobiliCAMPUS (2019).

Iuri loves to travel, play string instruments and play soccer with his son Joca.
