ITDP is a nonprofit organization headquartered in New York City with offices in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, and the United States. ITDP’s programs focus on public transport, non-motorized transport, travel demand management, parking, transport policy, and urban development.

Alphonse Tam

Global Communications Manager

Alphonse (he/him/his) is a Global Communications Manager with ITDP’s headquarters based in New York City. He is responsible for communications strategy, content creation, public relations, and research development alongside the broader team. In this role, Alphonse works closely with ITDP’s US and international offices to convey the organization’s programs and projects to an array of audiences.

Alphonse joined ITDP in 2022. Prior to this, he spent his career working with cross-sector nonprofits and NGOs in marketing, communications, fundraising, and partnership development capacities. Alphonse holds an MSc in Urbanization and Development from the London School of Economics and a BA in Urban Studies and Architectural History from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a native of Philadelphia and enjoys running, cycling, reading, and exploring new neighborhoods in his free time.
