About the Presenter

Taylor Reich Research Associate

Taylor (they/them/their pronouns) joined ITDP in the summer of 2019. Their work is in metrics and indicators, improving tools to help us better understand the cities we live in. They are especially interested in the intersection of mobility and land use. Taylor holds an Sc.B. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Brown University. There, they worked in a laboratory to refine techniques – metrics and indicators – for measuring small molecule permeation through gap junctions in cultured tissue spheroids, a topic that may have implications for non-animal-based drug testing procedures. They have completed a Fulbright research year in Amman, Jordan, where they studied the history of Jordanian housing policy and the pedestrian-friendliness of Amman’s streets. Taylor has written about mobility and land use for a variety of publications, including Greater Greater Washington, Mobility Lab, and the Tysons Reporter. In their free time, they enjoy reading science-fiction novels, watching videos by amateur YouTube tour guides, and attempting to cook.
