Sustainable Transport on Course While Warsaw Wobbles: Report From COP 19

A summary of the proceedings from the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 19) in Warsaw, Poland, and progress on the post-2015 sustainable development agenda and their significance for land transport.

As international efforts to address climate change and a post-2015 framework for sustainable development advance, there are an increasing number of opportunities for sustainable transport to contribute to both agendas. The Bridging the Gap initiative and the Partnership on Sustainable Low Carbon Transport have jointly been working to increase the evidence, visibility and understanding of sustainable transport and to provide a useful dissemination platform for the wider sustainable transport community. This report brings together the output from the recent UNFCCC nineteenth edition of the Conference of the Parties (COP) international climate change conference held in November 2013 and the efforts to include sustainable transport in the development of the sustainable development goals. A more focussed analysis of COP 19 can be found on the Bridging the Gap website.
