Runjie earned his Master of Science degree in Urban Planning and Management from the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. His graduate thesis “Measuring Transit-Oriented Development Network Synergy Based on Node Typology” was submitted to the World Symposium on Transport and Land Use Research (WSTLUR) in 2017 and was selected for presentation. Afterward, the paper was published in Journal of Transport and Land Use. Runjie is a bike enthusiast, and is passionate about promoting the development of cycling lane systems in Chinese cities.
