ITDP is a nonprofit organization headquartered in New York City with offices in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, and the United States. ITDP’s programs focus on public transport, non-motorized transport, travel demand management, parking, transport policy, and urban development.

Mariana Brito

Communications Coordinator

Mariana Brito is a Journalist from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ) and is currently pos-graduating in Urban Sociology at Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ). She works at ITDP Brazil coordinating the implementation of communications strategies for projects and also institutional demands. Creating content for ITDP Brazil’s website, managing media relations, contributing to social media, and reviewing technical publications are some of her responsibilities.

Besides communications, Mariana is interested in themes that focus on reducing social and racial inequality and she sees sustainable urban mobility policies as one possible way to discuss these themes. In college, she took part in a scientific initiation and researched women’s movement in Rio’s universities to fight against gender violence. She has been awarded twice by Expocom for college projects.
