Transport Planning Consultant

Mariam is a Transport Planning Consultant at the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy where she joined in 2019. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning from Concordia University in Montreal. During her studies, she was involved in two technical projects: the revitalization of a downtown alleyway into a safe walkway and the redevelopment and redesigning of the Ville-Marie Expressway into a pedestrian-friendly boulevard. Mariam is currently working with ITDP on the first BRT project in Cairo, Egypt. She has been working on conducting transport surveys, training surveyors, collecting, cleaning and processing data; in addition to assisting with the service plan, mapping, and networking. With the support of the Egypt office team, she is compiling the best practices about mass transit integration, non-motorized transport planning, public transport planning and design.
