ITDP is a nonprofit organization headquartered in New York City with offices in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, and the United States. ITDP’s programs focus on public transport, non-motorized transport, travel demand management, parking, transport policy, and urban development.

Eng. Mohamed Kuganda

Transport Planning Consultant- Dar es Salaam

Eng. Kuganda was a civil servant from 2002 to 2016. His career kicked off at Kinondoni Municipal Council and Lindi District Council. He worked with DART project since its inception 2004. He was the first Chief Operations Officer (COO) of UDA Rapid Transit Plc (UDART) from July 2016 to November 2017. As COO at UDART, he was responsible for developing, executing, and managing the Company’s BRT operations with a particular emphasis on the day to day profitable operations of the business. He is a civil engineer by profession and holds an honours degree in civil engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam, a diploma in transport planning, development, and management from Galilee International Management Institute of Israel, a diploma in road traffic safety from Lund University of Sweden and certificate in urban public transport planning from Tokyo International Centre (JICA-Japan). He completed coursework in the masters programme in project management from the Open University of Tanzania.
