ITDP is a nonprofit organization headquartered in New York City with offices in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, and the United States. ITDP’s programs focus on public transport, non-motorized transport, travel demand management, parking, transport policy, and urban development.

Ehitayhu Mesele

Associate II, Transport Systems

Before joining ITDP as a Transport Planning Consultant, Ehitayhu founded Ethiopian Road Safety Association, ERSA and worked as a technical head of road safety department. During her stay at ERSA, she was engaged in coordinating and designing workshops and trainings related to road safety and sustainable transport.

Before establishing ERSA, she also worked as a site engineer in different construction companies. Accordingly, she has experience in designing pavement thickness, carrying out monthly progressive report and performing bituminous mix design using Marshal and Super-pave methods.She holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Bahir Dar university and a master’s degree on Transportation Science -Road Safety in Low- and Middle-Income Countries from Hasselt university in Belgium
