Colonel Mbareck Diop, ITDP Senegal Country Director, will accompany Mr. Malick Ndiaye, Senior Advisor to the Senegal Transport Minister, to Paris to mini-workshop on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) May 16 - May 20.
The visit will familiarize Senegal decision-makers with cutting-edge transit systems that may inform efforts underway to improve public transport in Dakar, Senegal. The workshop includes visits to the BRT system in Rouen, and the Trans Val de Marne (TVM), a BRT in the southern suburbs of Paris. Alexis De Pommerol, a Transportation Planner with Systra, International Consulting Engineers for Rail and Urban Transport, is the primary organizer of the workshop. Colonel Diop joined ITDP as Senegal Country Director in January.
