Curitiba, Brazil already has one of the world’s leading Bus Rapid Transit systems. This year they expanded the system with the new “Green Line”, which was built on a former federal highway and flanked by a new linear park. City planners hope to spur high-density housing development, and have re-zoned the stretch from service-oriented to high-density residential and commercial.
